1. How to request deletion
Every deletion request is made the same way, by email. There is no login, no account required and no form to complete.
Email: it@skysat-iq.com
Subject line: Data Deletion Request
Include: the identifying details for your customer type, listed in sections 3, 4 and 5 below.
Send your request from the email address on file for your account where you have one. We use this to verify the request. If you cannot send from that address, say so in your message and we will verify your identity another way before acting.
Timeline. We confirm receipt of your request within 7 days, and complete the deletion within 30 days of receiving it.

SkySat provides fiber broadband to subscribers in Baghdad, and software platforms for business clients, including a service that sends one-time passcode (OTP) messages to a business client's own customers over the WhatsApp Business Platform. The three sections below cover each customer type.
3. Internet subscribers
If you are or were a SkySat broadband subscriber and you want your account data deleted, email it@skysat-iq.com with the subject Data Deletion Request and include:
- Your full name as registered on the subscription.
- Your subscriber or account number, if you have it.
- The service address where the connection was installed.
- The phone number registered on the account.
What we delete
- Identity and contact records: name, identification document details, phone number and email address.
- Installation and service address.
- Subscription records: plan, contract dates and equipment identifiers.
- Technical and connection logs associated with your service.
- Customer care records, support tickets and correspondence.
- Your SkySat app account and its associated data.
An active subscription must be closed before the account data can be deleted, because we need the data to provide the service. Tell us in your email if you want the subscription terminated as part of the request. Any SkySat equipment on loan must be returned. See section 7 for records we are legally required to keep.
4. Business clients
If your business uses a SkySat software platform, email it@skysat-iq.com from the address on file for the account, with the subject Data Deletion Request, and include:
- Your business name, exactly as registered with SkySat.
- Your WhatsApp Business Account ID, if your account uses the messaging service.
- The name and role of the person making the request.
What we delete
- Account records: business name, contact name, email address and phone number.
- Stored Meta access tokens for the connected WhatsApp Business Account.
- WhatsApp Business Account ID and phone number ID held against the account.
- Message delivery logs, including delivery status records.
- End-customer phone numbers processed on your account's behalf.
- Platform configuration and settings held against the account.
Verification codes are short-lived and expire automatically. They are not retained after expiry, so there is nothing further to delete in respect of a code itself.
5. End customers of a business client
If you received a one-time passcode message from a business that uses SkySat, and you want your phone number and message records deleted, you have two routes.
Route 1: contact the business that messaged you
That business is the data controller for your information. SkySat only delivers the message on its instruction. Contacting the business directly is usually fastest, and it can instruct us to delete your records.
Route 2: contact SkySat directly
Email it@skysat-iq.com with the subject Data Deletion Request and include:
- The phone number that received the message, in full international format, for example +964 780 079 9399.
- The name of the business that sent the message, if you know it.
- The approximate date you received the message, if you know it.
What we delete
- Your phone number, wherever it is held in our systems.
- All message delivery logs and delivery status records associated with that number.
We verify that the request comes from the holder of that phone number before deleting anything, so that one person cannot delete another person's records. Where the business client is the controller, we also notify it of the request.
6. Revoking SkySat's access in Meta Business Settings
A business client can cut off SkySat's access to its WhatsApp Business Account at any time, without contacting us and without waiting for a deletion request to be processed.
Disconnecting SkySat in your Meta Business Settings immediately revokes SkySat's access. Once disconnected, the access tokens held by SkySat stop working, SkySat can no longer send messages from that WhatsApp Business Account, and SkySat can no longer read data associated with it.
Revoking access stops any further processing. It does not by itself delete the records already held by SkySat. To have those deleted as well, send the request described in section 4.
7. What we may have to keep
We may retain a limited set of records where the law requires it, in particular billing and accounting records that the tax and commercial law of the Republic of Iraq obliges us to keep, and any record we are required to preserve by a lawful order of a competent authority.
Anything retained on this basis is kept only for as long as the law requires, is restricted to what the law requires, and is not used for any other purpose. We will tell you if this applies to your request, and what is being kept.
8. Questions
If you have a question about a deletion request, or you have not received a response within the timelines in section 1, contact it@skysat-iq.com.
Further detail on how we handle personal data is set out in our Privacy Policy.
